Don’t Be Roped In by Amateurs
Hire an inspector that is certified, thorough, and knows what he’s doing.
Buying or selling a home in Colorado Springs requires confidence in your property’s condition. With unique regional challenges—radon levels that frequently exceed EPA action thresholds, roofs damaged by baseball-sized hail, and foundations stressed by 40-degree temperature swings—you need an inspector who understands Front Range properties. Green Door Home Inspections delivers thorough, same-day reports with photo and video documentation that give you clear answers when decisions matter most.
As certified InterNACHI inspectors serving El Paso and Douglas Counties, we provide detailed property evaluations for buyers, sellers, homeowners, and those monitoring the quality of new construction. Our inspector is a United States Marine Corps veteran who brings military-grade attention to detail to every appointment.
Colorado’s climate creates specific vulnerabilities. We’ve documented cracked foundation walls from freeze-thaw cycles, compromised roof decking from repeated hail impact, and elevated radon readings in neighborhoods across the entire region. Our inspections account for these patterns, helping you distinguish between normal aging and conditions requiring immediate repair.
You’ll receive your digital inspection report the same day as your inspection, complete with photos and often video clips showing exactly what we found. Reports are written in plain language—no technical jargon that requires translation.
Every inspection follows InterNACHI Standards of Practice and includes a systematic review of: structural components, including foundations and framing, roofing materials and drainage systems, exterior walls and grading, complete plumbing systems (including noting low water pressure if observed), electrical panels and wiring, heating and cooling systems, attic insulation and ventilation, interior walls and ceilings, windows and doors, and built-in appliances.
We identify safety hazards, deferred maintenance and defects, and defects that could affect your investment. We don’t perform invasive testing that damages property, and our standard inspection doesn’t cover septic systems, private wells, or specialized systems without add-on services. If you’d like to review a sample report before scheduling, contact us directly.
Radon testing is strongly recommended for all Front Range properties. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment confirms elevated radon levels throughout our service area. Our 48-hour continuous monitoring test runs while we inspect other systems.
Sewer scope inspections use waterproof cameras to reveal problems invisible from above—root intrusion that blocks flow, bellied sections where waste collects, or deteriorating cast iron pipes common in pre-1980 homes. Mold testing is available when you observe visible growth, detect persistent musty odors, or need confirmation following water damage.
We’re state-licensed, InterNACHI certified, and carry both general liability and errors and omissions insurance. Our lead inspector completed extensive training in residential deferred maintenance and defects and serves the Front Range with the same integrity and discipline learned in the Marine Corps.
You’re welcome to attend your inspection and walk-through findings with us. We’re available by phone after you receive your report to discuss repair findings, explain technical details, or answer questions your contractor raises. We treat every property as if our own family were buying it.
We inspect properties throughout Colorado Springs, Monument, Fountain, Security-Widefield, and Peyton in El Paso County. We also serve Castle Rock, Parker, Aurora, and Denver when needed.
Pricing varies by square footage, property age, and selected services. Schedule your inspection online or call us directly—we accommodate most timelines, including rush requests when closing dates accelerate.
Most inspections require 2–4 hours, depending on square footage, age, and condition. A 1,500-square-foot ranch takes less time than a 3,500-square-foot two-story with a finished basement. Learn more about how long a home inspection takes.
